Being the change we wish to see can be messy and span across decades & hair dos 🤣

 Yup! That's me back in the day -the big hair days, the Genesis (Peter Gabriel era) days, and the decade when I began exploring what in-time transformative practices look, sound, and feel like in action.

 Recently, I've been asked about the origins of my In-Time to Lead the Future framework and how I came to view myself and others as global transformation.

 I know, global transformation sounds grandiose...

 So, here's the story behind the story.

 In my twenties, Landmark Education introduced me to a radical possibility: What if I was more than the stories I had created about myself?

 Being human is messy. We make sense of our experiences by creating stories about who we are, what we're capable of, and where we belong. Some of those stories serve us well. Others limit what's possible...

 The possibility that we are more than those stories rocked my world!  -Sometimes awakening is not a gentle yawn and stretch... It's a loud, crashing boom!

 As I shed the stories that no longer served me & awakened to a world united by infinite possibilities - I knew that I wanted to play a leading role in creating it... by being "that which was there for me" which was, for me,  - global transformation. 

 My newly awakened self was all in... There was only one problem... My life didn't match my declaration.

 To be fair, my Honda Civic was doing its part. It proudly displayed bumper stickers proclaiming Think Globally, Act Locally, Minds Are Like Parachutes...They Only Function When Open, & a peace frog filled with prairie flowers.

 The values & vision were there... The lived practice was still unfolding. So what I expected to be a breakthrough showed up as a breakdown. Or, as I would later come to say:

 Shift Happens!

 Over the next several decades, through teaching, learning, leading, and building communities of practice, I came to understand something important. - Looking back, I can see that what once appeared as a breakdown was actually a breakthrough to my becoming...

 The awakening was instantaneous. Living into it took decades... One willingness to step forward without knowing what I didn't know... One courageous choice to stand for what I believed in, even when I was standing alone... One vulnerable moment of choosing authenticity over approval...at a time.

 Today, that breakdown serves as a breakthrough through the evolution of thriving In-Time Communities of Practice and In-Time to Lead the Future...Between awakening to the possibility of BEing Global Transformation and discovering how to bring that possibility to life... 

 - One teacher, learner, and leader at a time, inspiring others to be the change they wish to see through (doing what matters) in time.

 BTW: some people call me by "More Cowbell."

In my classroom, we used to practice training our brain to "tune out - to tune in" ... Now, as In-time communities of practice, we continue the practice of tuning out distractions to tune into what's present now - what matters - and what's next... What will you decide to tune into today?

Okay - since we are all human (as far as I know 🤣) I figure each of us can relate to exploring what it is to be human. In our own way.. This video is about one minute long and so good - it basically illuminates the human experience in simple ways to aha and understand - so we can integrate this understanding into our BEing. - BEing - as in being our best selves, inspiring others to do their best, and always learning.
